Ventura City Fire puts out Kitchen fire at Restaurant on Victoria Ave.

price arial, rx sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;”>On December 31, site 2016 at 11:09AM, Ventura City Fire personnel responded to a first alarm commercial structure fire, reported to be a fire inside a commercial strip-mall restaurant in the 1700 Block of Victoria Ave, Ventura, CA

First arriving units found the business unoccupied and locked, with flames visible inside the kitchen area and smoke emanating from the roof, a working-fire was declared and additional resources were dispatched to the incident. Entry to the interior of the business was forced using hand tools and the kitchen fire was quickly suppressed by an engine company using hoselines.

The support company laddered the roof and investigated the hood system to rule out any extension. Following knockdown of the fire the additional incoming resources from neighboring agencies were cancelled.

Damage to the building and/or its contents were minimal, the cause of the fire remains under investigation, no injuries were reported at the time of this release.
