Ventura City Firefighters Extricate Victim From Accident — Survivor of Morning Crash on 126 Fwy.

On October 19th at 6:57 AM,  Ventura City Firefighters were called to the scene of a vehicle collision on the eastbound 126 freeway, east of Kimball road.

Upon arrival firefighters discovered a jack knifed semi-truck off the roadway, a full size pickup truck wrapped around a eucalyptus tree and a passenger sedan in the freeway median.  Two adult males were trapped in the trucks, one was pronounced dead at the scene, the other had life threatening injuries.

The driver of the passenger sedan was uninjured.  Firefighters using hydraulic extrication tools were able to free the trapped victim, who was in serious condition, from the semi-truck; he was transported to a local trauma center.  Heavy wreckers were used to disentangle and pull the trucks back onto the roadway where the deceased victim was removed from the badly damaged pickup truck.
