Last night VCAS Equipment Chair Person Dennis Willett gave the most comprehensive talk on asteroids I’ve ever witnessed.  Though not overwhelming, his delivery was smooth and the material was well paced.  It was like attending a mini seminar! So those of you who missed it because you were at the “Storm Area 51” event really missed the better thing. lol 👽

Be sure to Join us next month for 2 big events:

Fr 18 OCT @ the Forum: Dr Mark Morris of UCLA will talk about SOFIA – Infrared Astronomy from a 747. Starts at 7:15 pm 🌚

Sa 19 OCT @ the Observatory: Our last Star Party of 2019. Starts at 7 pm 🌠

    [3]

Can’t wait for the Next Star Party?

Sa 28 SEP @ Satwiwa in Newbury Park: – Club member Pam Hoffman is hosting own star party.  Starts at 6 pm. This isn’t a VCAS sponsored event, it’s an Everyday Spacer event.😎

    [Finally]

There’s still time to take the tour of the JWSP 🔭🚀

Contact our club President Phil Regier ☎ FMI and read below

This is to update our previous announcement that most of our VCAS Fall 2019 Tours to the James Webb Space Telescope are still open for signups. These tours are scheduled for Mondays with arrival for visitors requested by 09:00 or 10:00, depending on the tour date, for receiving preprinted visitors’ badges, the welcoming presentation on aerospace technology, and JWST observation at Northrop Grumman Space Park in Redondo Beach.

Each tour will last about one and one-half hours. Each tour will require about 1/4 mile of walking between buildings.  Water and restrooms are available along the tour route.  Visitors must be able to walk up stairs.

Again:  Tours to JWST are free, and parking at Northrop Grumman is free and usually abundant.

Please remember that no photography or recording of any kind is permitted anywhere on this national defense site.

Thanks to all who have already attended during the Summer and Fall tours! Including several of our members who have returned for another look!
