The Ventura County Garden Club will meet on Wednesday, April 4th (2018) at Otto & Sons Nursery, 1835 E. Guiberson Road, in Fillmore, for a guided walking tour of their roses. The 30-minute tour will begin at 11:00 a.m., so please plan to gather in front of the nursery at least five minutes earlier. The walking path will be on gravel; but for those with a walker or in a wheelchair, there is a concrete area that can be easily accessed.  The nursery has over 800 rose varieties.  Members will see Hybrid Tea Roses, miniature roses, Grandifloras, Floribundas, climbing roses, rose trees, bush roses, and even rose ground cover.   Also, a representative will talk about the nursery’s integrated pest management practice; which includes using organic and non-organic pesticides and fertilizers.
The garden shop will be available to participants after the tour and has many items for sale. These include roses, vegetables and gift items. Then the group will gather for lunch at a local restaurant. Members and guests are welcome. For further information, contact Jacqualin at (805) 816-6019 or [email protected]
