    Ventura County Students Aviation Career Day | Compete For $850 In Cash Prizes For School

    Hosts: Ventura County Ninety-Nines, Ventura County Career Education Center, California Aeronautical University, Commemorative Air Force SoCal Wing, CP Aviation, Ventura County Department of Airports, Channel Islands Aviation and Scofield Catering

     

    An event for all high school and middle school students in Ventura County to learn about various aviation careers available in this growing industry. Students will have the opportunity to speak to aviation industry professionals, military professionals, pilots, airlines and aviation schools.  Visit with representatives from Parker Aerospace, NASA, US Air Force, Marines, US Navy, Sky West Airlines, Piedmont Airlines, GoJet, UAV industry professionals, Civil Air Patrol, Flight Attendants,  Figure One Foundation, Latino Pilots Association, local  flight schools , as well as local Colleges including California Aeronautical University, Embry Riddle and Spartan College. There will also be flight simulators, drone demonstrations and various aircraft on display.  Airshow and Air Race performer, Vicki Benzing, signing autographs.  Vicki recently thrilled crowds at the Wings Over Camarillo Airshow with her performance in an Extra 300.  She recently won second place in the Sport Gold Race and sixth place in the Jet Gold Race at the Reno Air Races.

     

    Highlight: Make Garbage Fly Contest:  Students bring their gliders made from recycled materials and compete for $850 in cash prizes for their School.  For contest rules, please visit www.facebookcom/vcaviationcareerday.
