Ventura County Treasurer-Tax Collector reduces costs for electronic payments

VENTURA, Calif. – Ventura County’s Treasurer-Tax Collector, Steven Hintz, announced today that his office has concluded negotiations with ACI/OPAY, the County’s on-line and credit card processor, on a contract extension that reduces the cost to taxpayers who use a credit card or an electronic check to make payments to his office. 

The new rate for electronic checks is $1.50, down from $2.00; the new rate for credit card usage is 2.15%, down from 2.35%.  The new rate reduction is forecast to save secured property taxpayers about $330,000 this fiscal year.
