Ventura: Family fight leads to arrest for battery, elder abuse and resisting an officer

diagnosis arial,sans-serif;”>On July 30th, Thursday at 2:59pm, the Ventura Police Command Center received numerous calls regarding a family fight inside of a residence in the 100 block of East Barnett Street.  Prior to the officers arriving, the suspect fled on foot from the residence.  A motor officer working in the area responded to the call and saw the suspect and attempted to detain him, however as he attempted to contact him, the suspect became combative with the officer and resisted him.  Other officers arrived on scene and were able to assist with the arrest of Peter Lourito a 49 year old Ventura resident.

At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined the suspect had committed a battery causing great bodily injury to the victim, a 78 year old male.  Lourito was later booked into Ventura County Jail for Elder Abuse, battery causing great bodily injury and resisting arrest.  The victim was treated for moderate injuries at the scene and later transported to Community Memorial Hospital.
