On July 21, Thursday at 3:15, a Ventura Police patrol officer saw the suspect in the passenger seat of a vehicle. The officer knew the suspect had an outstanding felony warrant. As the officer stopped the vehicle, the suspect ran away, and the officer chased after him. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect attempted to hide in bushes to avoid the officer.
When ordered out, the suspect still did not comply, continued to resist arrest and reached into his pocket. A taser was deployed and allowed the officers to take the suspect into custody. The suspect was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center for a medical clearance for the minor injuries he received during the arrest. The officer was uninjured.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the suspect was booked into Ventura County Jail for his felony warrant, possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
