Ventura Fire crews secure metal roof dislodged by high winds

On Saturday, January 24th at 12:52pm, Ventura City Fire personnel responded to an automotive repair business in the 600 block of Ventura Ave. for a metal-roof carport-type structure that had been dislodged and flipped over by high winds.  It’d come to rest on top of an adjacent building. When crews arruved the dislodged metal roof was determined by Fire personnel to be unstable and presented additional safety hazards if it should become airborne again due to the strong winds. The metal roof was secured in several locations with utility ropes and the property owner was advised to wait until the wind event subsided before attempting to have the roof removed.

No injuries were reported.
