    Ventura | Hit and Run – Pedestrian Injured

    On April 6th at 9:12 PM, the Ventura Police Command Center received several 911 calls of a hit and run injury traffic collision between a vehicle and pedestrian in the 200 block of E. Santa Clara St. The first arriving officers found the pedestrian, a 28-year-old male, suffering from moderate non-life threatening injuries. The pedestrian was treated at the scene by Ventura City Fire personnel and then transported to VCMC by AMR ambulance for treatment of his injuries.

    The preliminary investigation showed the pedestrian was in the crosswalk crossing E. Santa Clara St. at the intersection of Figueroa St., when he was struck by the suspect vehicle that was traveling eastbound on E. Santa Clara St. After the collision, the vehicle continued and did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian.

    The suspect vehicle was described by witnesses as a white Nissan Sentra sedan. There was physical evidence found at the scene, which could assist investigators.

    This is an active investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Ventura Police Department at 339-4451.
