Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
On 3/14/2021 at 1:48 AM Ventura Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a call of a gunshot heard inside a residence in the 1200 block of Portola Ave. Upon arrival, officers surrounded the residence and contacted the occupants, and had them safely exit. Regan was detained, and VPD detectives responded to conduct the investigation.
The investigation revealed that Regan was intoxicated while handling a rifle and fired a round from a second-story bedroom into the floor. The round went through the floor and lodged in the kitchen sink. An elderly resident was in the home at the time the shot was fired.
Regan was arrested for negligently discharging a firearm and elder abuse. No one was injured during this incident.
