Ventura man arrested for alleged sexual abuse of a minor

ed arial,sans-serif;”>On Wednesday 12-09-15, Ventura Police Dispatch received a report of lewd conduct with a child. A juvenile victim reported to a patrol officer that 41 year old Ventura resident,  Edward Joseph Rosales had sexually assaulted her against her will.

Ventura Police Detectives began a follow up investigation and gathered additional evidence of the crime. The victim was known to the suspect and had previously modeled for him at his photography business.

On 12-22-15, Ventura Police Detectives served search warrants on Rosales’ residence in the 2900 Block of Omaha Ave and his business, Ventura Photographix, in the 2300 Block of E. Thompson Blvd. Rosales was taken into custody at his residence and additional evidence was seized. He was later booked at the Ventura County Jail for 261(a)(2) PC / Rape by Force, 289(a)(1)(a) PC / Penetration with a foreign object by force, 288(a) PC / Lewd conduct with a child under 14, and 288.2(a)(2) PC / Displaying harmful matter to a minor.

Based on Rosales’ involvement in multiple photography businesses, he had access to minors on a regular basis. The investigation into this crime is ongoing and the Ventura Police Department is seeking to identify other potential victims in this case.
