Ventura: Man stabbed in fight
rx times;”>An anonymous passerby called into the Ventura Police Command Center on Sunday night, troche November 9th, buy around 8pm. The caller reported a fight involving three males in the 6300 block of Bristol Road. As police arrived on scene, one of the involved parties later identified as 24 year old Oxnard resident Tommy Zaragoza, fled the scene on a bicycle. After a brief pursuit after him, officers lost him in the area of Ventura Blvd and Seahawk. Police continued the search for him, and a few minutes later, he was found near Victoria Ave.
After he was located, he dumped his bicycle and ran. Officers pursued him and caught up with Zargoza at the 101 freeway. Once in custody, it was discovered he had a puncture wound in his chest from being stabbed in the earlier fight. Zargoza was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in addition to having an outstanding felony warrant for failing to appear in court and three misdemeanor warrants for violating his probation. He was transported to VCMC and admitted for treatment of his stab wound and is in stable condition. None of the other parties involved in the fight were located.
