Ventura PD arrest Felon in possession of a stolen handgun

adiposity arial,sans-serif;”>On Sunday, May 30th at 7:30pm a Ventura Police Department patrol officer was traveling northbound on Johnson Dr under the 101-freeway overpass and saw 32 year old Cy Segovia riding a bicycle with a gun case in his left hand. Segovia tossed the gun case and began to ride away from the officer. The officer caught up to Segovia and ultimately stopped him. While Segovia was detained, the officer located the gun case and found a .45 caliber handgun inside the gun case. Segovia was found to be on probation for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Segovia was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Segovia was placed under arrest without incident.

Patrol officers conducted further investigation into the firearm that Segovia had in his possession and learned that the firearm had been stolen during a vehicle burglary that had not yet been reported. The vehicle burglary occurred in the 700 blk of Seneca St in Ventura.

Segovia booked into the Ventura County Jail for being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
