Ventura PD arrest man after long vehicle pursuit

drugs times;”>Friday night, advice December 12th, 11:45pm, a Ventura Police Department Motor Officer observed a Ford F-150 truck commit a traffic violation. When the officer attempted to make an enforcement stop near Seaward and Ocean, the driver, 44 year old Camarillo resident David Fox, failed to stop. Fox continued driving and eventually drove onto Main Street and headed eastbound while committing several traffic violations, including not stopping for red lights at several different intersections. Patrol officers took over the pursuit and Fox drove from Main Street to eastbound Telephone Road where he entered the southbound 101 Fwy at Telephone and Main. The CHP was notified and one of their units joined the pursuit.

Fox continued southbound on the 101 Fwy at approximately 75MPH still failing to yield to officer’s lights and sirens. He exited the freeway at Lewis Road and continued to commit traffic violations in the City of Camarillo. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department was notified and arrived to assist. Fox drove northbound into a residential area and slowed down to approximately 15-20 MPH, continuing not to yield. He drove to the 1100 Block of Eston Street where he pulled to the curb and stopped and was then taken into custody without further incident. It was determined he was the solo occupant of the truck.

Officer’s administered field sobriety tests, which indicated that Fox was under the influence of a controlled substance. He was later booked at the Ventura County Jail for evading a police officer and driving under the under the influence of a controlled substance. No one was injured as a result of this incident.
