Ventura PD arrest two teens for breaking in vehicles

At 20 minutes past midnight on Feb. 18th, tadalafil Wednesday morning, Ventura Patrol officers responded to the area Willamette Street and Deschutes Avenue because several male subjects were casing vehicles in the area. The officers checked the neighborhood but were unable to locate the suspects at that time.

Several minutes later, a resident in the 9600 block of Lucerne Street heard their car alarm sounding and witnessed two males running from the area. Officers arrived on scene as the call was being dispatched and located the suspects a short distance from the victim’s residence.

During the course of the investigation officers learned the suspects, 18 year-old Romell Burney and a 16 year-old male juvenile had been walking the surrounding neighborhoods looking for unlocked vehicles. The suspects located several unlocked vehicles on Deschutes Street and removed property from each of them. The suspects were found to be in possession of the stolen property at the time of their arrests.

Burney was booked into the Ventura County Jail for prowling, being in possession of stolen property and criminal conspiracy. The male juvenile was issued a citation for the same charges and was released to his parents.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to call the Ventura Police Department at (805) 339-4309.
