Ventura PD arrest woman on mail theft charges

March 21st, here Saturday night at 9:50pm, drugs Ventura Police Department Detectives and patrol officers responded to Robyn Moore’s residence in the 100 blk of S Evergreen Dr to conduct a follow up investigation re: the theft of mail packages that had occurred the previous day in the 2400 blk of Poli St.

Moore matched the description of the suspect in that case and is currently on probation for theft and narcotic related charges.

Officers arrived and contacted Moore and began a search of her residence pursuant to her probation terms.

The stolen packages were not located however during the search a completed check in the name of victim Trudy Sarzotti, an Ojai resident, was located along with a large amount of financial documents belonging to the Beach Motors, a Ventura business. Numerous other items of suspected stolen mail from residents in surrounding cities were also found.

Additionally officers located several items of narcotic paraphernalia inside Moore’s room.

A relative of Sarzotti was contacted and conformed that the check found inside Moore’s residence had been stolen from Sarzotti’s outgoing mail earlier this month. A representative for Beach Motors was also contacted and conformed that the financial documents had been recently stolen from the business.

Moore was arrested for 496(a) PC – Possession of Stolen Property and 11364(a) HS Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia. She was later transported and booked into the Ventura County Main Jail.

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this crime is urged to call the Ventura Police Department at 339-4325, or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. If your information leads to an arrest, you could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.
