Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
On April 28th at 5:47 PM the Ventura Police Command Center received a 911 call from the driver of a vehicle who said he had just struck a pedestrian on Thille St. just north of Thille Neighborhood Park. The driver said that he immediately pulled over and called 911 after the collision. As he was on the phone, he went over to the victim and started to provide first aid.
As officers arrived on the scene, they began assisting with first aid until fire and AMR personnel arrived and took over. The victim was transported to a local hospital but unfortunately passed away while being treated for his injuries. During the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the vehicle had no drugs or alcohol in his system, and they are not a factor in the collision.
The Ventura Police Motor Unit will be investigating the collision, and there is no further information at this time. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to call the Ventura Police Motor Unit at 805- 339-4451.
