Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
On December 18th at 5:34 PM the Ventura Police Command Center received numerous 9-1-1 calls reporting a vehicle vs pedestrian traffic collision on Victoria Ave near Valentine Rd. When officers arrived on the scene, they saw that the pedestrian was badly injured. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is currently in serious condition.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was crossing the roadway in an area where pedestrians are prohibited. The driver of the vehicle was on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Officers evaluated the driver, and drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this collision. The Ventura Police Traffic Unit will be continuing this investigation.
