Ventura | Personnel rescue 3 people from capsized boat

Ventura City Fire personnel and units responded to a report of a disabled vessel taking on water and nearing the rocks near the harbor entrance.

First arriving units located a capsized rigid hull inflatable, with 2 adult males and 1 juvenile male clinging to its sides, being impacted by medium to heavy surf and nearing the rocks of the jetty. Rescue swimmers were hampered by strong rip currents and no visibility due to night conditions, after being recirculated by the rip multiple times they were successful however in swimming all three victims to the beach. Rescue boat and shore-based rescuers provided additional support.

Victims received medical treatment for exposure and minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital by ambulance. No other injuries were reported at the time of this release, no pictures or additional information available.
