Ventura Police arrest two juveniles for possesion of stolen property
Just past 6am this morning, May 17th, the Ventura Police Command Center received a 911 call from a resident in the 300 block of Peach Street who was reporting having just found someone removing property from the interior of an unlocked vehicle.
When police arrived on scene within minutes of the call they learned the suspects had fled on foot and were last seen near the intersection of Casa Street and Pistachio Avenue. A search of the area and located two male juveniles 16 and 17 years old, in the 11000 block of Telegraph Road, who matched the description of the suspects. The juveniles were detained and they were found to be in possession of a large amount of stolen property.
During the course of the investigation it was determined the suspects had committed several thefts from both locked and unlocked vehicles in the neighborhood surrounding Peach Street. In addition to the above, police also located a suspicious vehicle parked nearby and learned it had been taken overnight out of the city of Santa Paula and had not yet been reported stolen.
The suspects were placed under arrest and lodged at the Ventura County Juvenile Hall for multiple counts of being in possession of stolen property, vehicle burglary, petty theft and criminal conspiracy. The recovered property, including the stolen vehicle, was identified and returned to the victims.
