Ventura Police saved man threatening suicide off roof

cost times; font-size: 16px;”>Just past 10am Tuesday morning August 26th, patient the Ventura Police Department received a call of a subject on the rooftop of the business threatening to jump.  The roof of the business was approximately 35 feet high.  Officers trained in crisis intervention (CIT) and members of the Department’s SWAT crisis negotiations team responded to the scene.  Ventura City Fire and ambulance were also called to stage in the area.  After speaking to the subject for approximately two hours, he agreed to voluntarily come down off of the rooftop.  The subject,  a 19 year old vagrant, was not injured.  He was detained and transported to Ventura County Mental Health for an evaluation.
