Ventura Police parolee on firearm and drug charges

cialis times;”>Beginning in early September 2014, order the Ventura Police Street Crimes Unit began investigating complaints regarding possible drug sales occurring at a residence in the 2200 block of Grand Avenue in Ventura. The investigation revealed that 33 year old Ventura resident, physician Richard Rodriguez lived in a garage conversion on the property. He is on active parole and is a documented gang member.

After several weeks of investigation, detectives and officers conducted a search at the residence. Rodriguez was initially detained in a vehicle in the driveway as he was leaving the garage area. A subsequent search of him and his residence revealed seven firearms, including a loaded shotgun and loaded handgun, additional ammunition for the weapons and methamphetamine in his possession for the purpose of sales.

Once the search and investigation were complete, Rodriguez was booked into Ventura County Jail on the following charges: prohibited person in possession of firearms, prohibited person in possession of ammunition, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of drugs for sale while possessing a loaded firearm.
