Ventura police report 31 year old motorcyclist dies in accident

mind times; font-size: 12pt;”>At 1am on Monday morning, here September 29th, the Ventura Police received a 911 call reporting an injury traffic collision involving a motorcycle in the 3700 block of Transport St. Arriving officers found the driver of the motorcycle, a 32-year-old male, deceased from the injuries he suffered in the accident. A 34- year-old female passenger on the motorcycle, who was wearing a helmet, was also found at the scene suffering from serious injuries. She was treated at the scene by Ventura City Fire personnel and then transported to VCMC by AMR ambulance.

The preliminary investigation revealed the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Transport St. and failed to stop as the roadway ended into a cul-de-sac. The motorcycle left the roadway and collided into a rod iron fence. There were no other vehicles involved in the collision.

The driver, whose name is being withheld, was not wearing a helmet. It is not known at this time if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.

The Ventura Police Department Traffic Unit responded to the scene and conducted the investigation. Once further information has been obtained from the investigation, the Traffic Unit will send out an additional press release.

No one else was injured as a result of this collision.
