Ventura Police return stolen vehicle to owner–suspect booked

At 7:30 am this morning a patrol officer was driving on Johnson Dr., buy when he observed a vehicle he recognized as being reported stolen the day before in Ventura. The driver was pulling into the parking lot of Motel 6.  The officer requested assistance, drugs and once additional officers arrived on scene the two occupants, view including the driver later identified as Marcus Wright, were ordered out of the vehicle and detained.

During the search of the vehicle, officers located narcotics, drug paraphernalia, a knife and club, which were illegal to possess.  Wright was arrested and booked into Ventura County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia, possession of deadly weapons and a parole violation.  The female passenger in the vehicle was detained and later released without being arrested.

The vehicle was impounded and will later be returned to the victim.
