Ventura: “Post Release Offender” arrested for robbery

sildenafil times;”>November 28th, order Friday afternoon at about 1:30pm, Ventura Patrol Officers responded to a theft report at the “Puerto Vallarta Ropa” business located at 698 N Ventura Ave and spoke with the victim who is an employee of the business.
The officers’ investigation determined that the suspect had stolen several items from the store and fled on foot. The victim followed and confronted the suspect who then simulated that he had a weapon in his waistband.
The victim, in fear for his safety, discontinued following the suspect and contacted the police.
The officers obtained a description of the suspect from the victim and other witnesses that led them to a church in the 600 block of N Ventura Ave where the officers located Anthony Baty, a 28 year old resident of Ventura.
Baty was detained and later identified by the victim and some of the stolen merchandise was recovered. No weapon was located on his person or in the area where he was detained.
Baty was also determined to have prior arrests for narcotic related offenses and was released from State Prison as part of the Post Release Offender Program created by Assembly Bill 109 and enacted by California voters in 2011.
Baty was arrested and transported to the Ventura County Main Jail where he was booked on the charge of 211 PC – Robbery.
