Ventura resident arrested | Suspect in Illegal Sale of Steroids

On 8/2/2018, Detectives with the Ventura County Sheriff’s East County Street Team detained a Ventura resident, Dustin Kirn, age 29, regarding an investigation into sales of illegal steroids. Kirn was stopped by a patrol deputy in the area of Spinnaker and Navigator drives. During the search of Kirn’s vehicle, detectives located two loaded handguns.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s East County Street Team, Pharmaceutical Unit, and Camarillo Police Special Enforcement Detail served search warrants at Kirn’s business located on the 2000 block of Palma Drive in Ventura and residence located on the 10000 block of Orange Circle in Ventura.
At the business, detectives seized a significant amount of illegal steroids, a loaded handgun, currency and evidence related to the sales of the illegal steroids. At the residence, detectives seized additional steroids, cash, handguns, and rifles.
At the conclusion, detectives seized over 100 vials and 1,600 pills of illegal steroids, a total of five handguns, a shotgun, assault style rifle, ammunition, and numerous high capacity rifle magazines. One of the magazines was a double drum magazine with a 100 round capacity.
Detectives also seized a large sum of cash believed to be proceeds from the sales of illegal steroids.
Kirn was arrested for possession for sale of a controlled substance. Additional charges are pending. Kirn was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail and his bail was set at $50,0000. Kirn posted his bail and is scheduled to appear in court on 8/16/2018, at 8:15 AM.
