Ventura | Sexual Battery Suspect Taken into Custody

On December 30th at 12:50 PM the Ventura Police Department Command Center received a call of a late reported sexual battery that occurred at Industry Horror at 518 E. Main St. An officer responded and contacted the victim, a 22-year-old female employee of the business.

The victim told the officer she was working when a male customer arrived at the business. The customer was not known to the victim. After a brief conversation with the customer, he left the business, only to return a short time later. When he returned, the customer approached the victim from behind and touched her inappropriately. The customer then left the business, stating he would possibly return later to meet with the victim.

At approximately 6:30 PM, the officer returned to the business and found that the customer had returned to the area. The customer, later identified as 55 year old Ventura resident, David Reich, was cited and released for misdemeanor sexual battery.

The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.

A review of the Ventura County Superior Court website did not show any prior arrests for Reich.
