Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
On July 6th at 2:27 AM, the Ventura Police Department Command Center received a call from the medical staff at Community Memorial Hospital reporting that a stabbing victim had come into the ER for treatment. Officers responded and contacted the 34-year-old male victim who was suffering from a non-life threatening injury to his head.
The victim reported that at approximately 12:30 AM, he and a friend had just left a bar and were walking in the 400 block of E. Santa Clara St., when a passing vehicle stopped and several subjects got out and confronted him. For unknown reasons, the subjects started to physically fighting with the victim and during the altercation the victim was stabbed. The victim received a laceration to the head. The suspects got back into the vehicle, a dark colored 4-door sedan, and fled the area. The victim’s friend was not involved in the altercation.
