Ventura teen arrested for sexual assualt

ask times;”>On Monday, clinic October 20th, Ventura Police Dispatch received a call from a hysterical female advising she was just assaulted by a male in the 100 Block of E. Main St. Patrol officers responded to the area and contacted the victim. She informed officers that she met a male in the downtown area and began to walk with him in the 100 Block of E. Main St. The victim said he claimed to be 18, however,  appeared to be younger. The male suggested they take a shortcut off of the main road and he then became aggressive toward her and attempted to grope her.  She refused his advances and he choked her until she became unconscious. When she awoke, he was attempting to remove her clothing. The victim screamed for help and her assailant fled the area.

Ventura Police Detectives conducted a follow up investigation and identified the suspect as a 15-year-old teen who lives in Ventura. The juvenile suspect had been reported as a runaway at that time. Detectives later determined the whereabouts of the teen and he was taken into custody on Thursday October 30th.

The juvenile suspect was booked at the Ventura County Juvenile Detention Facility for 243(d) PC, Felony Battery and 220 PC, Assault with Intent to Commit Rape.
