Ventura teen wounded in shooting

ailment arial, link sans-serif;”>On Saturday night, salve 10/24/15 11:53PM the Ventura Police Department Command Center received numerous 911 calls of a possible shooting that had just occurred at the corner of Ventura Ave. and Prospect St. Patrol officers, along with Ventura City Fire and AMR personnel responded to the call and were unable to locate any victims. Several subjects were contacted at the location, but were uncooperative.

At approximately 12:15AM, ambulance personnel located the 17-year-old victim at the intersection of Main St. and Santa Clara St, and notified the Command Center. Officers contacted the victim and determined he was suffering from a non-life threatening facial injury. He was transported by AMR to VCMC for treatment of his injuries.

The victim was also uncooperative with officers, although it appears the victim was walking in the area of Ventura Ave. and Prospect St, when the incident occurred.

Officers are currently on scene and conducting an active investigation. There is no additional information at this time. An additional press release will be sent out when the information is available.
