    Ventura | Threat Suspect dies by apparent Self-inflicted Gunshot Wound

    On July 29 at 7:50 AM, the Ventura Police Command Center received a call of a subject threating with a handgun inside a residence in the 3900 block of Telegraph Rd.

    Officers arrived on scene and the initial investigation revealed the occupant had been drinking and threatened his wife with a handgun. The wife and granddaughter fled the residence and called the police indicating that there were several weapons inside.

    Officers negotiated, via telephone, with the subject for over an hour to exit the residence and to disarm. The subject disconnected and several gunshots were heard coming from inside the residence. The Ventura Police SWAT team was activated and responded to the location.

    The SWAT team made entry into the residence and located the subject who had succumbed to a self- inflicted gunshot wound prior to their entry.
