Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
First Incident:
On December 26th at 7:54 PM a Ventura Police Department Patrol Officer located an occupied stolen vehicle in the parking lot of Lowes, 500 South Mills Rd. The vehicle was reported stolen in Santa Barbara County on 12/24/20. The occupant of the vehicle, Jansen Lee 09/12/1983, Santa Barbara Resident, cooperated with the officers’ commands to exit the vehicle, and Lee was taken into custody without incident. Lee was arrested for numerous charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of graffiti tools
Second Incident:
On December 26th at 851 AM, the Ventura Police Command Center received information that a stolen vehicle was in the area of Schooner Dr. and Harbor Blvd. A Ventura Police Sergeant responded to the area and, while en route, located the vehicle as it entered the lot of Sinclair Gas, 2121 Harbor Blvd. Two subjects occupied the vehicle. As a stop was initiated on the vehicle, the passenger exited and fled southbound on Monmouth Dr. The passenger was not located.
The driver of the vehicle, James Warwick, 02/14/61, Vagrant was taken into custody without incident. Warwick was arrested for unlawful taking of a vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen from the Los Angeles area on 12/25/2020.
A search of the Ventura County Superior Court website shows that Warwick has prior arrests for commercial burglary, vehicle burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, and miscellaneous drug related charges.
