Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
On March 20th at 1:30 PM Ventura Police Department Command Center received a call of a subject brandishing a knife in Mission Park in the 100 block of E. Main St. Officers responded and attempted to make contact with the subject, later identified as Rustan Aliyev, DOB: 01/01/77, Vagrant from the officers, who pursued him on foot. During the foot pursuit, Aliyev stopped and brandished the knife at one of the officers. Aliyev continued running and ran into the side of a passing vehicle, which caused him to fall.
Officers were able to take him into custody without further incident. No one was injured as a result of this incident.
Aliyev was arrested for felony resisting arrest, carrying a dangerous weapon and a parole violation.
