Ventura Water Reaches Important Milestone Toward State Water Interconnection Project
Public Invited to Submit Comments to Draft Environmental Impact Report
The City of Ventura announced today that it has reached a milestone in advancing its efforts to improve local water supply through a State Water Interconnection Project. As the lead agency for the project, the City has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) that is now available for public review and comment. The proposed project will allow the City to receive its imported water entitlement through a pipeline connecting from Calleguas Municipal Water District to the City of Ventura.
The connection will also facilitate direct delivery of State Water Project water to United Water Conservation District, and direct or in-lieu delivery to Casitas Municipal Water District. Additionally, the interconnection pipeline will allow the City to deliver water to Calleguas Municipal Water District during an outage of its imported water supplies.
Interested persons, organizations, and agencies are invited to attend a public meeting, in conjunction with the regularly scheduled Water Commission meeting, to receive an overview and ask questions about the environmental analysis of the project.
Public Meeting Date: Tuesday, February 26, 2019
Time: 5:30 P.M.
Location: Ventura City Hall, Community Meeting Room (Room 202)
501 Poli Street Ventura, CA
Public comments on the Draft EIR are due no later than 5 PM on Friday, April 5, 2019.

At Sacramento, we waste money for a train that few people would use instead of increasing our water storage capabilities so that we have “affordable” water when we have a drought.
Only democrats can think this is good management of natural resources.
