Jessica Navarro (DOB 6/22/89), of Ventura, was sentenced for the murder of her 22-month-old son.
The investigation began when first responders were dispatched to Navarro’s residence on the morning
of June 29, 2016, for a call of a non-responsive child. Upon their arrival, medical personnel found her son laying lifeless in the master bedroom. After being transported to Ventura County Medical Center, the victim succumbed to his injuries. An autopsy was conducted, which revealed the victim had suffered severe internal blunt force trauma. Investigators from the Ventura Police Department questioned Navarro regarding the victim’s injuries. Navarro admitted to repeatedly striking her child earlier that morning because he was crying incessantly.
Judge Ryan Wright of the Ventura County Superior Court sentenced Navarro to 15 years to life in prison.
