Ventura’s Inaugural Taste of Local Expo announces 2015 Music and Vendors


viagra arial, sildenafil sans-serif;”>The Taste of Local Exposition, drugs Ventura’s new epicurean event of the season, is being added to the annual Ventura County Agricultural Summit for the first time to showcase the best food and drinks in Ventura County on Saturday, September 12 at California State University Channel Islands.
The Taste of Local Expo is designed to help consumers connect all the steps from field and farm to fork in a fun and social way. The event will feature food samples from top-line chefs, restaurants and caterers that emphasize locally sourced produce such as McGrath Family Farm, Plated Events, Main Course Catering, Seasons Catering, Discovery, The Kitchen, Winchesters Grill, The Tavern, The Saloon BBQ, Watermark, Ocean Pride Seafood and Ventura Meat Company.
Premium beverage samples will be poured by premier local wineries, breweries and distillers including Surf Brewery, Four Brix Winery, Poseidon Brewing Company, Blendz Winery, Ladyface Ale, Labyrinth, Panero Brothers, Squashed Grapes, Channel Islands Distillery, Ventura Spirits, Ventura Limoncello, Alquimia Tequila, Island Brewing, Clos Des Amis, Grapes & Hops and Cantara Cellars.
In addition to the premium food and drink samples at Taste of Local Expo, shopping opportunities will also be available with local purveyors and vendors such as Spice-topia, Buon Gusto Farms, Ex Voto Chocolates, The Refill Shoppe and Earls Gone Wild. These merchants will be proudly presenting their products that are made from and support the Ventura County agricultural industry.
A variety of musical acts have been booked to entertain and excite attendees at this lively event. Performances include Dan Grimm’s unique musical genre, the Flip Flop Honky Tonk; Twice Western Music Association Cowboy Poetry nominee, Andria Kidd; and acclaimed Latin guitarist and harpist Xocoyotzin Moraza with Thomas Herrera.

Ventura Agricultural Summit will be held a day prior to the Taste of Local Exposition. Ag Summit brings together a diverse group of agricultural related organizations to guide discussions, seminars and panels about agriculture related topics. This year’s theme is “We are Different”, to highlight Ventura County’s rich soil, Mediterranean climates, innovative farmers and diverse crops and to showcase how Ventura County agriculture helps feed the community and the world.
Agricultural Summit will take place on Friday, September 11 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and will be followed by the Farm to Plate Mixer from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. at Cal State Channel Islands University. The Taste of Local Expo will take place on Saturday, September 12 from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the same location.
Vendor information and tickets can be purchased online at Agricultural Summit tickets are $35 and Farm to Plate Mixer tickets are $55, or $25 if purchased with an Agricultural Summit ticket. Taste of Local Expo tickets are $65. Two-day event passes are $100 and includes all events. 2013, the mission of Ventura County Agricultural Summit has been to protect and promote agriculture while ensuring the welfare of the public, the industry and the environment. With help and support from the Ventura County Agriculture Commissioner’s Office, they have been able to promote and work with many Ventura County agriculture stakeholders, building the necessary structures of long term success into the future.
