West County Street Team arrests suspected meth dealer in Oxnard
Information on methamphetamine sales led to the arrest of Jessie Casarez for being in possession of a controlled substance for sale. During this investigation, detectives determined Casarez was on parole and was out on bail for an arrest made in November 2014 for possession for sale and sales of methamphetamine.
During this investigation, detectives received information that Casarez was selling methamphetamine in the city of Oxnard. Detectives obtained a search warrant for Casarez, his vehicle and his residence.
On July 17, 2015, narcotics detectives executed the search warrant on Casarez as he left a convenience store in the city of Oxnard. Detectives located methamphetamine, narcotics packaging, a scale and currency. Vanessa Carriedo was in Casarez’ vehicle at the time the search warrant was executed. Detectives evaluated Carriedo for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Carriedo was later arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Carriedo was booked into the Ventura County Jail on $5,000.00 bail. Casarez was arrested for possession for sales of methamphetamine, a parole violation, and booked into the Ventura County Jail on $250,000.00 bail.
The West County Street Team is made up of Sheriff’s Office, Santa Paula Police Department, and the Oxnard Police Department narcotics detectives working cooperatively in the investigation of narcotics offenses occurring in the western portion of Ventura County.
