Antelope Valley – Assemblyman Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, has earned the endorsement of the Antelope Valley African American Leadership Council (AVAALC) in his race for the open 21st Senate District.

“It’s an honor to receive the blessing from such an influential organization that brings a clear voice for fairness, opportunity and equity,” stated Wilk. “As a legislator I always try to get to ‘yes’ and we share much common ground in creating a pathway of opportunity for the African American community.”

The AVAALC is a dynamic coalition of African American community-based organizations that promotes social and economic justice, civic participation, and empowerment of African Americans.

The AVAALC’s goals are building leadership and organizational capacity of the community, as well as advancing public policies to increase opportunities and support for African American people.

“Working together we can build a build a better California that educates our young people to equip them for the new global economy and bring mortgage-paying jobs to the Antelope Valley so families don’t have to.

FYI- This AVAALC DOES NOT represent a good portion of the African American Community, nor does the African American community in the AV endorse thia group. This caught many leaders in our portion of the greater AV by much surprise and disappointment. Their evolution alone raised a flag amongst the community.
