Williams pleads guilty to charge of Human Trafficking

Fresno resident Demarea L. Williams (DOB 8/23/1993) pled guilty to one charge of felony human trafficking on January 4, 2016.

On December 20, 2016, the Ventura Police Department received a 911 call from a female adult victim who stated she was being held against her will by Williams and was being forced to engage in prostitution activity.  Officers located the victim, along with Williams and another female adult, at the La Quinta Inn in Ventura.  The case was investigated by detectives from the Ventura Police Department and the Ventura County Human Trafficking Enforcement Team, which is a team of investigators from law enforcement agencies throughout Ventura County who proactively investigate human trafficking crimes.  

Williams will be sentenced on February 2, 2017.  He faces a maximum sentence of 12 years in state prison.
