Oxnard Police Department – Incident Press Release
On September 23, 2019, at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to a traffic collision which occurred at the intersection of Oxnard Blvd. and Ash Street. Officers discovered that a 1998 Toyota Sienna minivan was traveling northbound on Oxnard Blvd. when it struck a pedestrian who was walking eastbound across Oxnard Blvd. in a marked crosswalk at Ash Street. The pedestrian, identified as a 70-year-old female of Oxnard, was immediately transported to the Ventura County Medical Center; however, she succumbed to her injuries despite receiving medical treatment. The driver of the Toyota Sienna minivan, identified as a 54-year-old male of Oxnard, remained at the scene of the collision and cooperated with traffic investigators.
