—————————————————–

On Sunday afternoon, January 25th at about ten minutes before 4pm, a woman called the Ventura Police Communication Center for help.  She had been running on the Botanical Garden trails at Grant Park, near Brakey Road, when she was slapped on the buttocks.  She described the man who had harassed her as an Hispanic male, approximately 18-19 yrs old, 6 foot tall, 160 pounds with short buzzed cut black hair, clean shaven, wearing rectangle reading glasses and wearing a light blue shirt and black basketball shorts.

The victim said she ran past the suspect who was seated next to the path. He reached out and slapped her on the buttocks. She quickly turned around and faced the suspect, taking a fighting stance.  He grabbed her wrists and would not let her go.   That’s when she attempted to kick the suspect.  This caused him to finally let go and run off towards the Cross area.

This was not the first time she’d encountered this man.  Three months before he had followed the victim for about a quarter mile on the Botanical Garden Trails and made several vulgar comments.  When she yelled at him,  he fled the area. This incident went unreported to the Ventura Police Department till today.

The victim also told officers she saw the suspect again three weeks ago but was able to avoid him.  At that time there was no confrontation between the victim and suspect.

The victim was not injured during today’s incident.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. The Ventura Police Department is seeking information on this incident and any additional reports of Sexual Battery’s in the Botanical Gardens.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Ventura Police Department at 339-4309

When are girls and women going to realize they are not safe jogging, running, or walking alone anymore?
Convicted killer John Albert Gardner was able to abduct, rape and murder 2 teenaged girls that were walking and running alone. And that is just one man.
Females have to be totally stupid not to take a friend or relative along with them. We also have thousands of illegal aliens in the U.S. we know nothing about! What more do you ladies need to know? John Albert Gardner was an American citizen and still committed his crimes. An illegal alien can simply go back to his homeland and get away.
Stop endangering your lives!
