Santa Paula, Calif. – One arrested for DUI and nine others cited for driver’s license related offenses while conducting a DUI checkpoint on September 25, 2021.
The checkpoint was held at 500 W. Harvard Blvd near the intersection of Harvard Blvd and Laurie Ln from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Nine drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 336 vehicles were contacted. One driver was arrested for DUI drugs and other criminal charges, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed with Loaded Firearm, Criminal Street Gang Member Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and additional weapon or drug related offenses.
Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired.
