Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release
On October 24th, 2019, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s West County Narcotic Street Team, assisted by members of the Ventura County Combined Agency Team (VCAT), concluded a multi-month narcotic investigation into Oxnard resident Ernesto Sanchez by serving search warrants at his residences and arresting him for numerous narcotic violations.
For the past several months the West County Street Team investigators received information that Ernesto Sanchez was selling large quantities of heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine to residents of Ventura County. Detectives acted on this information and employed a variety of investigative techniques, which exposed Sanchez’ drug trafficking activities. During the investigation, detectives also developed compelling evidence that Claudia Alejandre was assisting Sanchez with his illegal activities.
In the early morning hours of October 24, 2019, detectives served search warrants in the 5300 Block of South J Street in the city of Oxnard as well as the 700 Block of Polaris Way in the city of Port Hueneme. Sanchez and Alejandre were arrested during the search warrant executions and approximately 325 grams of heroin, 141 grams of cocaine and 54 grams of methamphetamine were seized along with paraphernalia consistent with the sale of illegal narcotics.
Sanchez and Alejandre were booked at the Ventura County Main Jail for numerous narcotic violations. Bail was set at $300,000, for both Sanchez and Alejandre. They are both scheduled to appear in Courtroom 13 at 1:30 pm, on October 28, 2019.
The West County Street Team is comprised of Narcotic Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the Oxnard Police Department, and the Port Hueneme Police Department.
