Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release
On 03/11/2020, at approximately 9:24 AM, Daniel Kornbluth, whom was housed alone in a cell within the Special Housing Unit of the Pre-Trial Detention Facility, was being evaluated by medical staff. During the evaluation, Mr. Kornbluth began suffering from a medical emergency. Deputies and medical staff immediately started rendering medical aid to Mr. Kornbluth. Ventura City Fire and American Medical Response personnel also responded to provide more advanced care. Ultimately, Mr. Kornbluth was transported by ambulance to the Community Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. Sometime thereafter, Mr. Kornbluth’s medical condition stabilized and he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. At approximately 1:20 PM, Mr. Kornbluth’s medical condition began to decline. Hospital staff performed life saving measures; however, Mr. Kornbluth did not survive, and he was pronounced deceased at approximately 1:39 PM.
The cause of death is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau, pending autopsy results from the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office. As a matter of policy, the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau investigates the causes of all inmate deaths.
Unfortunately, this case and many others show the true “skill” level of the jail’s medical staff. Total incompetence.
Dr. Adler is a very negligent doctor, he is the head doctor with Ventura County Jail regretfully Houzz negligence has crippled and obviously led to the untimely demise. I have a personal experience with Dr. Adler sometime ago and due to his neglect I suffered horribly but because of his personal agenda and feelings towards me he allowed his professional standards to be compromised as such no one will ensure him except for the County of Ventura he has had multiple medical malpractice lawsuits filed against him and still they allow this man to treat or in this case failed to treat affectively or in a timely manner which led to someone dying where does liability begin and end?
