Join potter Martin Ikkanda and watercolorist Catherine Ikkanda for light refreshments and a viewing of their work. Drawing from nearly five decades of living in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains, Catherine and Martin Ikkanda—both retired educators—share a love of their natural surroundings through pottery and watercolor painting. Martin learned to throw pottery in Venice, California in the early 1970s. In the Japanese style of Mingei, his pottery is designed to be decorative as well as functional. Catherine is a self-taught watercolorist with an eclectic viewpoint and belief that original art should be accessible to all.
