An Inside Look with Mary Grabar

Dr. Mary Grabar came to our attention because of her recent book, Debunking Howard Zinn: Exposing the Fake History that Turned a Generation Against America. The damage perpetrated by Howard Zinn is impossible to overestimate, and Mary Grabar exposes each lie, each deception and deliberate distortion of history committed by this charlatan, an activist disguised as an academic who could only have succeeded to the extent that he did with the complicity of the similarly-activist Ivory Tower class.

This book, in start contrast to Zinn’s, is meticulously researched, sourced, reasoned and argued, and it should be put in the hands of every high school and college educator who uses Zinn’s propagandistic tome.

Join us Wednesday at 4PM Pacific (note special time due to Republican National Convention) for a discussion about truth, history, education, Leftist propaganda and how to save the Republic.

About Mary Grabar, PhD:Mary Grabar was born in Slovenia when it was still part of the Communist Yugoslavia and grew up in Rochester, New York. She earned her Ph.D. in English from the University of Georgia in 2002 and taught at a number of colleges and universities in Georgia until 2013.

While teaching, she wrote widely on political, cultural, and educational topics, and founded the Dissident Prof Education Project, a nonprofit reform initiative.

In 2014, she moved to Clinton, New York, and became a resident fellow at The Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization. You can read more about her here and here

Some updates from AFA:

Truth Forum’s Conservatism 2020 conference

On August 14th, The Korean Conservative Youth Group “TRUTH FORUM” held a “CONSERVASTISM 2020” Conference in Seoul.

Truth Forum has been a great friend and ally to AFA, engaged in so many of the same freedom-related fights as we are here in the US. David Kim, president of Truth Forum, has also been a staunch supporter of AFA, and he and others connected to Truth Forum participated in our last year’s “Global Freedom Movements” conference. (All videos here but note especially Jeesoo Hong, Daniel Cho and Peter Kim whose Save Korea Foundation was a sponsor of our conference.)

In the spirit of cooperation and alliance between these two freedom and truth-advocating organizations, we sent a congratulatory message which was played at their conference.
In response, we received this video that thanked me, Gordon Chang, Lawrence Peck (to whom we owe this connection to the ROK conservative movement and whose speech at our conference is here); at the end of the video, they are chanting “U.S.-ROK Alliance! U.S.-ROK Alliance!” (ROK = Republic of Korea)

It’s an honor to be allied with others who stand for truth and freedom in the face of those who, around the world, seek to destroy both of these fundamental values.

AFA is looking for people willing to join our Media Team.

To be on our team you must have a keen eye for the meatiest, most important, interesting and/or compelling bits out of the vast trove of videos that we have on our YouTube channe l.
What our team members do:
1) pick a handful of your favorite AFA videos,
2) watch them,
3) note the start and stop times of any parts you think should be made into separate video clips.
That’s it.
You pick the video, you pick the clip. And if you come up with a clever name for the clip, so much the better!
Once you’ve sent us start/stop times for three separate clips, we’ll send you your choice of conference thumb drive or AFA ball cap.
Videos of interest include all AFA original content (this excludes the Freedom Academy videos). Special interest is the INSIDE LOOK series but all conference videos and event videos are terrific too.

AFA’s Liberty Index Initiative

The violence, destruction, chaos and general mayhem in our cities and streets are born of hatred and rage that have been deliberately cultivated and fomented in our young people, primarily through our schools. We’re seeing the culmination of the decades of efforts of Marxist and other Leftist groups who have been manipulating our history, teaching shame rather than pride in this most exceptional nation, teaching victimhood rather than self-determination, teaching destruction rather than gratitude to those who are the creators of all that we benefit from. Recognizing the power that our education system has, and how that power has been exploited for a hateful and anti-Freedom agenda, AFA is launching an initiative to assess schools according to a Liberty Index, creating a resource for parents, the community and educators to find schools whose academic and philosophical values match their own; in addition, we will be recognizing excellence and will promote schools which rank high on our Liberty Index. This is the first of many ventures taken by AFA to contend with the destruction of education and we’re very excited by it.
