Camarillo Boys & Girls Club “Expanding Possibilities” New Space For Kids & Teens

The Camarillo Boys & Girls Club will dig in the shovels for a Groundbreaking Ceremony for its new addition at 1500 Temple Ave. on Tuesday, Oct 26, at 4:00 p.m.  The expansion will add 6,500 square feet to the facility and will include a Teen Center, STEM Center, and a Sensory Room for kids with special needs. Teens will have more age-specific programs that will help them build lifetime interests and skills through middle and high school.

The Club addition was only a dream four-years ago and now the blueprints will become concrete, steel and glass. Roberto Martinez, the Club CEO, attributed the incredible generosity of the community, and the campaign leadership of Mark Lisagor and Myron Harrison and the Club Board, for reaching the $4 million goal. “Our Club donors have made it possible to build places where kids change the trajectory of their lives and build confidence, competence, character and connections,” said CEO Martinez.

Jerry Clifford, Board Chair for the organization said, “The Club is a community resource for over 400 kids a day to develop into our future leaders, teachers, and nurses. Many will be the first in their family to graduate from high school and go on to college.  One parent said that she loves the Club because her kids finish their homework there, freeing time for the family to enjoy time after dinner.”

After the next 8-10 months of construction, the club will be welcoming more kids to enjoy more activities, more programs, and more fun.  Watch the building of steel and glass rise-up and get ready — the Club will be starting a new era in the fall of 2022.  For further information, contact Roberto Martinez, 805-482-8113.
