Camarillo, California – The Camarillo Sanitary District will propose an increase to sewer rates at a public hearing on November 20, 2019.
The Camarillo Sanitary District (CSD) is proposing sewer rate adjustments that will increase rates for all properties and customers served by the CSD, effective January 10, 2020 and January 1, 2021. There are no proposed increases to water rates for 2020 and 2021.
The CSD will hold a public hearing on the proposed rate adjustments on November 20, 2019, at 7:30 p.m., in the Camarillo City Hall Council Chambers at 601 Carmen Drive, Camarillo, 93010. For more information, the public hearing notice is available for review on the City’s website: https://www.cityofcamarillo.org/Sanitary/Prop%20218%20notice%20Sewer%20Rates%20Public%20Hearing%2011-06-19%20FINAL%20(REVISED%20-%20DATE%20CHANGE)%20WEBSITE.pdf
There are no proposed adjustments for water rates. However, a Notice of Water Rate Review was mailed to all water and CSD customers. The notice is available on the City’s website: https://www.cityofcamarillo.org/Water/Prop%20218%20notice%20Water%20Rates%20Public%20Hearing%2011-06-19%20FINAL%20(REVISED)%20WEBSITE.pdf
The proposed rate adjustments reflect the recommendations included in a comprehensive rate study, which determined that the adjustments are necessary to provide sufficient funds to meet costs of CSD operations including construction and maintenance expenses associated with environmental regulatory requirements, and debt obligations. The planned improvements to the CSD’s infrastructure system include a flood control improvement project near the Wastewater Treatment Plant to provide sewer spill protection, improvements to the Pleasant Valley Road sewer force main, and various repairs and replacements of aging sewer pipes and facilities.
