VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Kang Sooyoung (DOB 06/08/94), of Los Angeles, and Damion Felix (11/30/92), of Oxnard, have been charged in two separate attempted robberies. The complaint charges attempted robbery, attempted first-degree residential burglary, possession of guns and ammunition by a felon, and special allegations of use of a firearm.
On December 6, 2021, officers from the Ventura Police Department were dispatched to investigate an attempted armed robbery of two victims at their Ventura residence. The suspects fled after resistance from the victims. On December 7, 2021, a robbery was attempted at a separate Ventura residence. The Ventura Police Officers captured Sooyoung at the scene and located two firearms during a search of his person. Felix was captured a short distance away, as he tried to flee in a vehicle.
Sooyoung and Felix appeared in court on December 9, 2021 and pled not guilty to the charges and allegations. The case was continued to December 20, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Both men are in custody with bail set in the amount of $160,000 for Sooyoung, and $100,000 for Felix.
